Keshif collects Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information (collectively referred to as “User Information”).
Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Personally Identifiable Information (PII) refers to information that lets Keshif know the specifics of who Users are. You are required to provide personally identifiable information, such as email address, to create and manager your account. When you engage in certain activities on this Site, such as contacting Keshif via the provided web forms or sending Keshif an email, Keshif may ask you to provide certain information about you, such as name, organization and email address. Some of the information Keshif asks you to provide can be identified as mandatory to receive services, and some as voluntary.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information. Non-Personally Identifiable Information refers to information that does not by itself identify a specific User. Keshif gathers certain information about Users based upon which pages Users visit on the Site in several ways. This information can be compiled and analyzed on both a per-user and an aggregated basis. This information may include, but is not limited to, the website's Uniform Resource Locator ("URL") from which User just came, to which URL User next goes, what browser User is using, and User’s Internet Protocol ("IP") address. In certain cases, Keshif may combine Non-Personally Identifiable Information with Personally Identifiable Information in which case all resulting or connected data will be considered Personally Identifiable Information.
Third Party Providers
Keshif may use third party service providers to facilitate use and operation of the Site and for other Site related activities. Such services can include, but not limited to, hosting services; database management/back-up services; monitoring services; customer support and customer relationship management services; accounting services; and payment processors. Keshif may use third party providers, such as Google or Microsoft, to enable importing user data to provide Services. Keshif uses Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. Keshif does not store your full payment information. Keshif uses HelpScout for providing customer service and support. Keshif uses Vimeo to host videos and make them available on the Site.
Use of Information
Keshif’s primary goal in collecting User Information is to provide you (the User) with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience while using Keshif’s Site and services, primarily for data analysis and administration. Specifically, Keshif may use your User Information to
● Administer your account and provide information and services to you;
● Respond to your communications, and provide customer service;
● Combine information from third parties to provide better and personalized services;
● Monitor, diagnose problems, and improve the Site;
● Inform you for information, products, services, and administrative notices;
● To consider you for employment if you apply for a job;
● For legal compliance, such as to enforce our legal rights, to comply in good faith with applicable laws, and to protect Site users; and
● For other general business purposes, such as website management, marketing, advertising, and research and development.
Release of Information
Keshif does not rent, sell, or share PII about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies, except in the following circumstances.
Public sections of service. Certain parts of this Site are publically available on the Web, and that any User Information that you submit, transmit, upload, or post to a public section of this Site or with a publicly available setting (even if a default setting) will be available to the public. Keshif has no control over the collection, distribution or other usage of User Information located on public sections of this Site.
Collaboration. You may create content and grant permission to other Users to access it for the purposes of collaboration using the Site. Such shared content can jointly display, or make available, name and other shared PII in your profile. Where this information is sensitive, we urge you to use the various security and privacy features of Keshif or its third party providers to limit those who can access such information.
Business Transfers. If Keshif should ever file for bankruptcy or have Keshif’s assets sold to or merge with another entity (or otherwise engage in any business combination or similar transaction), information Keshif receives from User through use of this Site is Keshif’s asset and may be transferred. In such an event, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Site of any change in ownership or uses of your PII, as well as any choices you may have regarding your PII.
Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement Requests. Occasionally Keshif may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide User Information to the appropriate governmental authorities. Keshif will disclose User Information upon receipt of a court order, subpoena, or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation. Keshif fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use Keshif’s Site or related services for illegal activities. Keshif reserves the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that Keshif, in good faith, believes to be unlawful.
Security of Information
Keshif values the privacy and security of User Information collected with its services. Keshif uses commercially reasonable efforts to protect User Information so that it is secure. For example, to protect your data in transit to and from Keshif servers, Keshif uses industry standard encryption, commonly referred to as transport layer security (“TLS”) or secure socket layer (“SSL”) technology. However, user acknowledges that no data transmission or hosting over the Internet or any wired or wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure and neither can the storage of such data or information. As a result, user uses this site and any related services at user’s own risk.
Voluntary Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information. Keshif does not collect any PII about User unless User voluntarily provides it to Keshif or it is related to use of the Site in connection with an integrated third party site or account. User provides certain PII to Keshif when User (i) submits web forms or provides/imports data through the Site, (ii) transmits other information by telephone or email, including Keshif’s “contact us” web form; (iii) connects third party accounts or facilitates access by the Site to such third party providers; or (vi) provides it via other methods Keshif may request or allow from time to time.
Automatic Collection of User Information. In addition, Keshif may also automatically collect, including through third party service providers (e.g. Google Analytics), certain User Information, including PII. Such User Information may be collected when you use the Site and may not require you to provide or input specific information.
Potential Methods for Collecting User Information. Keshif, and/or its service providers may use various methods to collect User Information. These methods may include, but are not limited to (i) cookies; (ii) analytics and user tracking technologies that may allow us to monitor what actions Users take on the Site; (iii) log Files; (iv) clear gifs; (v) third party service-based technologies and information, including, but not limited to, linked services (such as Google Accounts) that User authorizes to share information about User with Keshif; (vi) other social media or third party site connects or authorizations to share information, and (vii) other technologies that may be integrated into the Site.
Updating, Correcting, and Deleting Information. Keshif believes you should have the ability to access and edit the PII that you have provided to Keshif. You may contact Keshif to determine what PII we have on you by contacting Keshif at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name and email address when contacting Keshif. Keshif encourages you to promptly update your PII if it changes. You acknowledge that altering, updating or deleting any of your User Information may alter the functioning or operation of the Site for you. In addition, it may be impossible to completely delete User Information without some residual information because of reasons including, but not limited to, server backups.
User Choices on Collection and Use of Information
Email(s). Keshif may, from time to time, send you email(s) regarding Keshif’s products and services or the Site. If you does not want to receive such mailings, contact Keshif at support keshif.me with your request.
Disabling Cookies. You have choices with respect to cookies as described below. By modifying browser preferences, you may have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all or some cookies, some parts of Keshif’s Site may not work properly in your case.
Cookies. When you use the Site, Keshif may store cookies on your computer in order to facilitate and customize your use of the Site. As part of your use of the Site, certain service providers may also place a separate cookie on your computer (such as Google Analytics, Stripe). A cookie is a small data text file placed on your computer (if your Web browser permits) that can later be retrieved to identify you to the Site. The cookies make your use of the Site easier, make the Site run more smoothly and help Keshif to maintain and operate a secure Site, although Keshif makes no such guarantees about the Site’s operation.
Log files. Logs files can include information automatically reported by your web browser each time you views a web page, possibly including, but not limited to, your IP address, browser type and language, number of clicks, domain names of websites visited, pages viewed, and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, the date and time.
Clear gifs. Also known as web beacons, clear gifs are pieces of data used to anonymously track the online usage patterns, and which may also be used in HTML-based emails sent to Users to track which emails are opened by recipients.
Age of User. You should be at least 18 years old to have Keshif’s permission to use this Site. Keshif’s policy is that Keshif does not knowingly collect, use or disclose any Personally Identifiable Information (or other information) about Users that are under 13 years of age.
Server Host Country. This Site is hosted in the United States. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, you consent to the transfer of your User Information to the United States.
